What's included

Respite, overnight and around-the-clock care we provide

Short-term home care that keeps daily routines intact and gives family carers time to recover, work or travel with confidence.

  • Planned in-home respite

Regular weekly or fortnightly blocks so carers can rely on protected time for appointments, work or rest.

  • Emergency respite

Short-notice cover when a carer is unwell, hospitalised or called away, subject to worker availability.

  • Overnight sleepover shifts

A worker stays overnight, rests on site and responds to toileting, falls or night-time confusion.

  • Active night care

An awake worker for people needing frequent repositioning, continence care or close supervision.

  • 24/7 rotating rosters

Multiple workers scheduled across day, evening and night so care never lapses between shifts.

  • Live-in support

Continuous in-home support during a family holiday, a carer's own recovery or a period of decline.

  • Dementia-aware respite

Familiar routines, calm redirection and consistent faces to reduce agitation and sundowning.

  • Carer handover and notes

Written handover on meals, medications, sleep and mood so family carers return to a clear picture.

Overnight & 24/7

Safe nights at home, without a family member on watch

Nights are where most home care arrangements break down. Falls on the way to the bathroom, missed pain relief, wandering, breathlessness and disrupted sleep all peak overnight — and a family carer who has not slept properly in weeks cannot keep covering it safely.

We roster overnight support two ways. A sleepover shift suits households where the person settles reliably but needs someone there in case of a fall or confusion. An active night shift suits higher clinical need — regular repositioning to protect skin, continence care, two-hourly checks or palliative symptom monitoring — with the worker awake throughout.

Where need is continuous, we build a 24/7 roster with overlapping handovers so nothing is lost between shifts, and a coordinator holds the plan. Clinical tasks such as wound dressings or complex medications are handled by our nursing team alongside the support roster.

Who it helps

When families ask us for respite care

Respite is not a failure of care. It is the thing that makes long-term caring at home sustainable.

  • A spouse carer who has not had an unbroken night's sleep in months
  • Adult children juggling work, their own family and daily care visits
  • Carers with their own surgery, treatment or hospital admission scheduled
  • Families needing cover for a wedding, funeral, holiday or interstate trip
  • Households where dementia-related night waking has become unmanageable
  • People needing extra supervision after a fall, illness or hospital stay
  • Families trialling more support before committing to a long-term roster

Respite often pairs with personal care supports and domestic supports so the household is genuinely covered while the carer steps away — not just supervised.
